Children’s dentistry
A child’s first meeting with the dentist shapes every visit after it. The instruments are introduced and each step explained; preventive care helps stop decay before it starts.
Who it is for
- A first check-up once the first tooth appears or around age one
- Decay or pain in baby teeth
- Fissure sealants for new molars
- Regular fluoride and oral hygiene guidance
How it works
- Getting to know: the child gets used to the room and instruments.
- Examination: teeth and jaw development, X-rays if needed.
- Prevention: fluoride, fissure sealants and similar measures.
- Treatment and follow-up: fillings or treatment as needed and a check-up interval.
Afterwards
Parents are advised to help with brushing until about age 7 or 8. Fewer sugary snacks and a check-up every six months lower the risk of decay.
