Smile design and veneers
Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front surface of the teeth. In smile design, length, shape and colour are planned around your face, and you see the result in a mock-up before treatment.
Who it is for
- Discoloured front teeth that do not respond to whitening
- Teeth with irregular shape, wear or small chips
- Small gaps between the front teeth
- Patients with healthy gums and controlled night grinding
How it works
- Analysis: photos and measurements of smile line, lips and facial proportions.
- Mock-up: the planned shape is tried in your mouth with a temporary material and agreed with you.
- Preparation and impression: the tooth surface is reduced only as much as needed.
- Fitting: the lab-made veneers are checked and bonded.
Afterwards
Veneers resist staining, but the teeth and gums underneath still need care. Avoid biting very hard objects and wear a guard if you grind at night. Regular check-ups matter.
Questions
Veneer or zirconia crown?
A veneer covers only the front surface and needs less reduction. A crown covers the whole tooth and suits more damaged teeth.
Does smile design always mean veneers?
No. Sometimes whitening, bonding or gum contouring is enough. The plan follows your needs.
Can I see the result first?
Yes. The planned shape is tried in your mouth at the mock-up stage.
The information on this page is general. The right treatment for you is decided after an examination.
